Since 2021, PHOTOVILLE4600 has showcased photography at the forefront of contemporary trends. Whether established professional photographers, passionate amateurs, or emerging talents – PHOTOVILLE4600 offers all photographers the opportunity to exhibit at IPFO.

PHOTOVILLE4600 takes place annually at the end of August and alternates between two formats: HAUS DER FOTOGRAFIE and the INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL OLTEN. The two formats differ in their mode of presentation: at HAUS DER FOTOGRAFIE, the exhibition runs for one month and features exclusively works by Swiss photographers and those residing in Switzerland. During the INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL OLTEN, however, works by photographers from Switzerland and abroad are presented. There, the exhibition is an integral part of the festival and is shown as an open-air presentation to a broad audience of around 15,000 visitors.

PHOTOVILLE4600 is a competition in which around 54 photographers are selected and awarded by an international, highly distinguished jury through an open call. In the HAUS DER FOTOGRAFIE edition, participants have the chance to win the prestigious IPFO SWISS PHOTO AWARD. During the festival, the IPFO PHOTO AWARD is also presented.

In 2026, the fifth edition of PHOTOVILLE4600 will take place at HAUS DER FOTOGRAFIE. The call for entries is open until June 7. Submit your photographic work now.
