Wer Jordans Videos auf Instagram oder TikTok kennt, weiss, wie verständlich, direkt und inspirierend er ikonische Portraits analysiert und deren Lichtaufbau Schritt für Schritt erklärt. Er zeigt nicht nur das fertige Bild, sondern macht sichtbar, wie ein Portrait entsteht: wo das Licht steht, weshalb es dort steht und wie aus einem einfachen Raum ein starkes Portrait werden kann.

  We are very happy to welcome Jordan Berg to the IPFO Campus in Olten for his first workshop in Europe.

  Anyone who knows Jordan’s videos on Instagram or TikTok knows how clearly, directly and inspiringly he analyses iconic portraits and explains their lighting setups step by step. He does not only show the final image, but makes visible how a portrait is created: where the light is placed, why it is placed there and how a simple room can become the starting point for a strong portrait.

  That is exactly what this workshop is about.

Berühmte Portrait-Lichtsetups Schritt für Schritt nachbauen

Zu verstehen, wo Licht platziert wird und warum, ist oft genau das, was zwischen den Portraits liegt, die du machst, und den Portraits, die du eigentlich machen möchtest. In diesem Workshop lernst du, wie du ikonische Portrait-Lichtsetups von Grund auf aufbaust, Schritt für Schritt, mit einfachen Mitteln und in einem Raum, der kaum grösser sein muss als jener, den du wahrscheinlich bereits zur Verfügung hast.

Du erlebst den ganzen Prozess: wie jedes Setup aufgebaut wird, warum jedes Licht genau dort platziert wird und wie Probleme in Echtzeit gelöst werden. Danach probierst du es selbst aus, fotografierend und als Person vor der Kamera, damit aus den Ideen etwas wird, das du selbst gemacht hast und nicht nur etwas, das du gesehen hast.

Dieser Workshop basiert auf den Portrait-Lichtanalysen, die Jordan auf Instagram und TikTok teilt und die in den letzten sechs Monaten mehr als 10 Millionen Mal angesehen wurden. Einige von euch kennen diese Arbeiten vielleicht bereits.

  Understanding where light goes — and why — is often the one thing missing between the portraits you take and the portraits you want to take. This workshop shows you how to build iconic portrait lighting setups from the ground up, one simple step at a time, in a space no larger than what you likely already have.

  You'll see the exact process: how each setup is built, why each light is placed where it is, and how problems get solved in real time. Then you'll try it yourself — photographing, and being photographed — so the ideas become something you've done, not just something you've watched.

Jordan Berg ist Portraitfotograf mit Sitz in Washington, D.C., und Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) bei den Professional Photographers of America. Er ist Absolvent des New York Institute of Photography und hat mit Licht- und Equipmentherstellern wie Godox, Westcott, amaran und Nanlite zusammengearbeitet. Jordan arbeitet sowohl mit Sony als auch mit Hasselblad Systemen.

Bekannt wurde Jordan durch seine Art, das Licht hinter ikonischen Portraits nachzustellen und die Technik dahinter Schritt für Schritt zu erklären. Seine Inhalte erreichten in den letzten sechs Monaten mehr als 10 Millionen Aufrufe. Jordan hat bereits Fotografie-Workshops in den USA unterrichtet, unter anderem für das Maryland Chapter der Professional Photographers of America.

  Jordan Berg is a portrait photographer based in Washington, D.C., and a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) with the Professional Photographers of America. A graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, he has collaborated with lighting manufacturers including Godox, Westcott, amaran, and Nanlite, and works across both Sony and Hasselblad systems. Jordan is known for recreating the lighting behind iconic portraits and breaking down the technique step by step — content that has reached more than 10 million views in the past six months. Jordan has taught photography workshops locally in the U.S., including the Maryland chapter of the Professional Photographers of America.
