Seminar "Making the leap into video", Saturday August 26th...

Samantha Stark is a staff video journalist at The New York Times, where she directs, shoots and edits short documentaries and video series.

She loves stories that celebrate life, and has been lucky enough to get to report from thrilling places. Some of her favorites include: the front lines of the U.S. Supreme Court same-sex marriage case, a fast-food worker picket line, a training for would-be beauty queens and an 87-year-old's first time on the red carpet.

Stark has received awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International and The National Press Photographer's Association Best of Photojournalism contests. She was a Peabody Award finalist and nominee for a national Emmy award. She also teaches a video storytelling class at The City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism.
