…und wir tun es wieder!
INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL OLTEN
Now we’re ready to let the cat out of the bag. Well not just yet, but we promise to inform you as soon as we’ve got more news for you. Sign up for the newsletter to be among the first to know.
But this much we can tell you: We’re already working hard to create a promising second edition of the IPFO - International Photo Festival Olten on the 28.–31.8.2019.
“ONE’S VISUAL LANGUAGE IS NOT SOMETHING THAT MANIFESTS OVERNIGHT. IT DEVELOPS ORGANICALLY OVER A LIFE-TIME. THE SHIFTS CAN BE SO SUBTLE AS TO BE VIRTUALLY IMPERCEPTIBLE AND, AT TIMES, WILL COME TO FRUITION SO RAPIDLY, AND WITH SUCH FORCE, THAT THE PROFUNDITY IS ALL-CONSUMING. THAT IS LIFE'S WORKS.”
Following the successful launch of the International Photo Festival Olten (IPFO) in 2017, the second edition will take place in Olten from August 28–31st, 2019. This 3-day event has been initiated in 2017 by the Swiss photographer Marco Grob, the Creative Director Charles Blunier and his team, Paul Merki, previously Light + Byte and photographer Remo Buess, Olten. They have been working together for more than 25 years and have already realized numerous projects.
The Team of this years IPFO 2019: Remo Buess, Marco Grob, Linda Flury, Paul Merki and Christoph Zehnder.
The emotional core of the last festival will be maintained. So, the festival aims to allow the public a unique glimpse into the behind-the-scenes work of the crème de la crème of photography culture: internationally successful photographers who are active on international stages. People will have the opportunity to experience at close hand how they are motivated, how their inspirations influence them in producing such compelling work. So, not only images express their own story – you get the chance to hear the photographers story to the picture.
The program is, again, going to be first class. All keynote speakers are remarkable first-rate photographers and people working successfully internationally in this steadily evolving industry, and they have worked for leading global clients and publishers. Thus, the public can be assured that they will be experiencing the most outstanding artists in their field.
In addition to the keynotes, we organize workshops, seminars and portfolio reviews. Especially the reviews might be the best thing to happen to the career of young up-and-coming photographers. When do you ever get the chance to discuss your work with a top-class international professional?
During that time Olten is going to be the PhotoMekka you want to take part in!
